Thu Tran Wins the 2023 Triumph Law, P.C. Change Any Law Scholarship

The team at Triumph Law, P.C. is excited to announce that Thu Tran, a student at Arizona State University, has won the firm’s Change Any Law Scholarship. This scholarship awards $2,500 to a student who can write a compelling 500 to 1,000-word essay on a local, state, or federal law that could be changed in a way that would positively impact the lives of others.

Thu sees this scholarship as a huge boost to her academic journey and is glad that it will allow her to feel less stressed about the financial worries associated with higher education. She also acknowledges that winning the financial award is a testament to her potential, motivating her to work even harder in the future.

Thu’s Essay for the 2023 Change Any Law Scholarship

As mentioned above, Thu’s 2023 Change Any Law Scholarship essay detailed the reasons why modifying minimum wage laws would improve the lives of workers and benefit society as a whole. Thu said she was drawn to write about this topic because she has witnessed how the current minimum wage laws have negatively affected many workers.

In her essay, Thu discusses how increasing the minimum wage and indexing it to inflation will provide workers with a more secure and reliable wage. While Thu talks about the benefits of modifying minimum wage laws, she considers what skeptics think about raising the minimum wage.

Thu explains how business owners are cautious about supporting minimum wage increases, as they believe it will be too expensive to raise wages and may even put some companies out of business. Thu offers a counterargument by citing research that has found that increased pay often results in greater productivity.

According to Thu, an increase in worker productivity will improve profits and offset the cost of paying workers more. Overall, Thu’s essay supports the idea that increasing the minimum wage will not only improve the quality of life for many workers but will also reduce income inequality and improve the health of the economy. 

Thu’s Studies and Extracurricular Activities at Arizona State University

Thu Tran is currently studying graphic design at Arizona State University (ASU) and is expected to graduate in 2026. At ASU, Thu is learning about the principles of graphic design, how to use digital design tools, and how to effectively convey messages through advertising and digital media.

While Thu isn’t busy studying, she also likes to participate in design challenges on Instagram. She enjoys participating in these competitions because they challenge her to be more creative and also allow her to get feedback on her skills from a large community of designers. 

In addition to competing in graphic design contests, Thu also likes to volunteer her time to create promotional graphics and materials that capture the values of her school. She enjoys seeing how her work makes a positive impact on the school’s community and culture.

What’s Next for Thu Tran?

The winner of the 2023 Triumph Law, P.C. Change Any Law Scholarship, Thu Tran, has exciting plans for the future. Once she has graduated, Thu plans on working as a graphic designer in the advertising industry. She aims to help companies build brands and stories that inspire consumers.

In the short term, Thu hopes to get a position at a design agency where she can work on a handful of different projects and accrue experience. Her long-term goal is to become a creative director and lead a team of designers who work on branding strategies.
